Celebrating Quilters: Jan Myers

Ryan Redford

Jan says " My mother in law gave me scraps from a men's shirt factory that closed in the 1950's. They were small pieces left from in between the shirt parts after they were cut. They are all paisleys and some are quite ugly. I didn't leave any out, for two reasons:

  1. You don't leave history out just because it's not pretty.

  2. I needed every piece in order to have enough!

I wanted something manly and something that didn't require large pieces. I found a bow tie but the pieces were too large, so I made a 4" version of the same block. When all was done, there wasn't enough scrap left to make panties for a mouse!! "

What an endeavor, down to the very last crumbs! Thank you Jan. Absolutely stunning!
